Montefibre produces a low-cost and innovative industrial grade carbon fiber for end-use composite structures. This new carbon fiber material is much larger in tow size and varies significantly in processing characteristics from carbon fiber currently being used by composites producers, but maintains all of the key mechanical properties.
We make Carbon Fiber Universally Accessible
The New Montefibre Carbon
Praedium acquires Montefibre's Spanish plant
In May 2015, Praedium executed the acquisition of Montefibre Hispania
Praedium restarts production at the Spanish plant
In July 2017, 51 months after being shut down, Praedium had the Montefibre plant in Spain fully operational again, selling as much as 5.000 tons of acrylic fiber per month. The reopening was in it itself an unprecedented industrial success.
Montefibre becomes Montefibre Carbon
Montefibre Hispania becomes Montefibre Carbon, converting its facilities from textile acrylic fiber solely to the production of specialty acrylic fiber to be carbonized
Montefibre’s new innovative manufacturing processes for low-cost precursor development and conversion technologies hold the key to reducing carbon fiber cost for high-volume industrial applications.
Our ULCTF has the same quality and properties as a typical T300 carbon fiber, but with a highly reduced production cost

Tooling & Robotics
Montefibre is currently partnering with the U.S.’s largest energy research center (Oak Ridge National Laboratory), the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI), and many of the US leading companies within the carbon fiber and composites industries to bring ULTCF to market. Many of our partners are looking forward to becoming our customers.
